Bad luck!

So, in the past 2 weeks while driving I had 2 black cats cross my path. Today I finally ran into my 3rd.

Now, I’m in no way superstitious, but I can’t believe this happened. I pulled out my scooter for the few final decent days of riding that are left in Chicago. I put it on it’s kick stand and turn around to arrange some things in my garage and next thing you know my scooter tipped over. The worst thing is my left rear view mirror snapped off.

SIGH!

Its super hot out!

I’m not complaining, but I just had a curiosity.

What do you guys wear while riding in hot weather?

Question for all motorcycle/scooter riders…

It’s summer here in Chicago and I’ve been riding my scooter all day and night. I just want to know what you guys wear for safety, protection from the elements and for comfort.

Can you suggest any jackets that will protect me from the sun and still allow me to be cool? Any specific brands, types or suggestions for clothing options would be greatly appreciated. As of now I’m using a windbreaker and I feel like a parachute because of all the drag it creates. Right now I’m tempted to purchase a track jacket just to keep the sun off me, but I’m sure there are better options that won’t break the bank.

I know I shouldn’t cheap out on the things that I need, but the most affordable would be good to know.

HELP!?

A fellow scooterist (is that even a word!?) haha

4th of July Weekend!

Thursday

Work, went to service, went out with the amigos. Lived the High Life, ate some food, went home.

Friday

Slept in, did some cleaning, then went out with a coworker at night. I met some of her amigos and chilled out. Closed up shop at the Pita Pit where I ate a delicious Falafel Pita.

Saturday

Slept in as much as I could. Went with my sister upon waking up to Best Buy to pick her up a wireless router for her fancy schmancy Ipad. Chilled out at home then eventually made my way to my aunt’s house for a birthday celebration. Ate like a king and eventually napped. Went to the local Department Store to do some browsing, but didn’t find anything that caught my eye. Once home I changed and went to the Cubby Bear in Wrigleyville to watch my friend’s band, Your Villain My Hero. My close high school friends eventually met me up and we wandered around and checked out the night life.

- Also, a very humid day! I was chugging water at every stop light possible.

Sunday

Church then food with some of my friends at Massa. It’s an Italian cafe/Gelato restaurant. I had a nice Caprese Salad and now that I think about it…I’m regretting not trying any of the Gelato.

After that hung out with my friends at the mall, played some games and I eventually went back home to get ready for a rooftop BBQ! Once I arrived there was food and people a plenty! I had lots of delicious food items which included steak sandwiches, cupcakes, an assortment of salads and other sweets. A Diabetic’s kryptonite and I was weak to submit to my cravings, haha.

Once the sun set there were fireworks being launched from all directions and a beautiful view of the skyline.

Monday

Woke up super late, did some major overhauling of my room and then went to another BBQ. Ate food, had a few cigars, played some bags and met up with my best friends. I went home early to let my dogs out, but they didn’t take advantage of the opened up door due to their fear of fireworks. Poor things were trying to hide underneath my legs, but a few problems. There of 3 of them and 1 of me. They are nowhere near the size of a toy breed dog. 2 German Sheperds and a Lab trying to take cover under a 5’6”, Filipino man’s legs. Not very successful, haha.

I also went into my alley to light off the old fireworks I had from my Wisconsin trip last summer. I recorded some vids I’ll post later. Considering the average price of each firework was a dollar they were surprisingly entertaining. Nothing explosive, but lots of smoke and sparkles, haha.

Quick recap, no major details, but enough for me to recall in the distant future, haha. I also successfully scooted everywhere this weekend! Out to the local suburbs, to downtown Chicago and always managing to find my way home. I spent a whole $8 bucks for gas this whole weekend! Which, for all the bases I covered was pretty darn good. God Bless Amerikuh!

Went to Hooters with Audrey and found a sweet spot for my scooter right in front of the restaurant. After dinner we walk outside and find that my scoot (the mint green guy) has found some new friends! Effin hilarious!
